Seana Kendrick and Justin Hunnicutt Stephens

Parker Hunnicutt Stephens with proud new parents!
| | Welcome to Hunnicutt When I first had the idea to start HUNNICUTT I didn't hesitate to approach one of my oldest friends, Kirk Venge, to be my winemaker. Fortunately, he agreed and we began our adventure. We both had the same goal in mind, to focus on producing wines of exceptional quality from small lots of Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel that best express the flavor characteristics of the individual vineyards. Today, six years later, we are proud to have sold out of the fourth vintages of both Cab and Zin as well as our first vintage of Sauvignon Blanc! Feel free to contact us at 707-963-2908 to set up a tour and tasting. All our best, Seana and Justin WINERY NEWS June 10, 2008: This special day marks the birth of our first child, Parker Hunnicutt Stephens. She was born at 4:31 PM weighing 5 pounds, 15 ounces and measuring 19.5 inches long. She is healthy, strong and surprisingly alert. The plan now is to keep her! I've updated/added pictures to the 'Our Napa Valley' page if you are interested. We hope summer is going well for all of you! Seana, Parker and Justin New Winery Project
We have been fortunate enough to enter into contract on an as-of-yet undisclosed piece of property in Napa Valley on which we will be building a winery. This will house both our Hunnicutt brand as well as the D. R. Stephens Estate and DRII brands. Construction commencement is expected in October 2008 and completion anticipated sometime in the Spring of 2010. We look forward to hosting you for cave tours and tastings upon completion!
Harvest 2008
2008 will be another special harvest for Hunnicutt. I have added two new Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards to our arsenal - a 1.5 acre block in Pope Valley and a 1.75 acre vineyard in Oakville. We will also be bringing in roughly 4 tons of Merlot from a small vineyard in Coombsville - the future Toulocay AVA (American Viticulture Area) east of the city of Napa. Of course, we'll continue to source Cab from the 4 acre St. Helena Vineyard I share with a friend as well as our 7 rows from Andy Beckstoffer's George III vineyard in Rutherford and the 1 acre block from Keenan on Spring Mountain. Finally, we'll continue our relationship with our two zinfandel sources - including the ever-challenging vineyard-owner in Chiles Valley District (AVA). This will bring our total number of fruit sources to 8 small vineyards.
