2008 Cabernet

Sauvignon

This wine begins with an excellent, deep color. The nose exhibits a wide array of black cherry, cinnamon, clove, brown sugar and barrel vanillin.  The 2008 is certainly one of the most, if not the most, ripe and forward of the Hunnicutt Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley has ever produced.  Although it was a severe frost season across the Valley that year, Mother Nature had a wonderful way of thinning and concentrating the crop for us.  Rich, focused flavors of black fruit lead the complex, heady mixture of tannin, terroir and texture.  Aged smartly this wine will survive from 2019 to 2024 and beyond.  Aged 23 months on 60% new French oak, bottled unfiltered and unfined.
